About Us

Welcome to the page "Ho Paura dei Terremoti (it means I fear of earthquakes; I have seismophobia)".

This page is managed by a Japanese student who has experienced the Japan Earthquake (which occurred in 2011), and later has this phobia.

I'm a Japanese student and I'm not native in Italian :(

I started studying Italian only 2 years ago (August 2016).

And I have depression (maybe because I have trauma of the earthquake in 2011), too.

I attempted suicide at December 2017.

What is the purpose?

I want to help those who have experienced earthquakes and those who have wounds in their heart, and / or who have a mental illness.

I want to reach those who have both physically and mentally and who still have wounds in their hearts.

5 things that I want you to know:

1. Know that "seismophobia" (fear of earthquakes) more.

See "Fear of the Earthquakes".

2. The problem of mental health is caused by illness, not by weakness.

Those suffering from mental illnesses are NOT cowards, attention seeking and selfishness.

See "Mental Health"

3. We should speak openly about mental health (and mental illness)

because 1 in 4 suffers in their lifetime.

4. If you have difficulty, it is completely okay to seek help.

(for example, your teacher, your friends, family and consultant.)

5. If someone you know feels suicidal and / or suffers from depression,

What NOT to do is:

To cheer up the person or tell them to shoot away.

Assume that the situation will take care of itself.

Argue or discuss moral issues or regional issues (e.g ."Do not commit suicide." "The Bible prohibits suicide, suicide is an act against God").

Suicide is not a choice; It happens,

when pain exceeds resources to cope with pain.
